How to go:	Way 1: If you are coming by road from Kolkata side, from Ballyghat take GT road towards Srirampore, it is around 5.5 km. only. Check your google map, it will make your journey easier. If you are coming from Srirampore side, take the same GT road, from Bata bus stop it is few meters only on left. Way 2: I went via Konnagar railway station. From Konnagar railway station approach 1 no platform, from there you will find toto (local vehicle) which will directly take you to the destination paying by 10 rs only. It is 10 minutes journey in toto.

More Information:	History in short - Shri Gunendranath Tagore is the person who had bought this 12 acres land adjacent to Ganges river to build this house in 1870. He was the father of Abanindranath Tagore. Shri Abanindranath was very attached to his father. He used to come to this garden house in his childhood days and spend months over here. This is the place where little Abanindra start his lessons of art and painting in his childhood. It is said that during leisure Gunendranath Tagore used to hunt this area with his son Abanindra and he used to like his father's company very much. They also live with lots of pets including deer, horse, dogs, monkeys etc. There was a Muslim Mazar inside the campus. They did not try to demolish that but there was a time when Muslim community people used to visit that mazar for pray on every Friday. You can also see that till date. Everything was going well until Shri Gunendranath Tagore's death on 1881. Shri Abanindranath could not take that huge loss of his life and he abandoned this house and never came back. He mentioned in many of his column that there is a hell and heaven difference between before and after time and it is hard to handle. After this incident this house is being sold from one to another and gradually it become abandoned. In May 2007 it has been undertaken by West Bengal Heritage Commission and got renovated. Present scenario For a little change one can go visit this beautiful place as there is no such hurdle to reach out. This place is fully covered by big trees including Mango, Jackfruits, Banian trees and many more. There is a dry swimming pool covered by the iron fence. There is a big aquarium with big colorful fishes, also a small artificial pond to cultivate Water Lili, Lotus etc. By the lane you walk it is beautifully decorated. The garden house and workshop area is properly colored and well maintained. Riverside ghat is amazingly constructed. There are caretaker and gardener who maintain the entire garden and produce beautiful seasonal flowers. They also have measure of drinking water.
