More Information:	About Totopara: Totopara, a small village of Alipurduar district of West Bengal, India, is an origin of Toto community whose density of population is around 1500 now-a-days. They are getting oblivion day by day due to the lack of facilities from govt. and also . A vast portion of their land is being separated from surroundings by Torsha river and this is the reason that their land is getting decreased due to cutting and collecting granite from from the river in dry season. These stones are being carried to the city for construction work. I was willing to talk to them personally and came to know the govt. is trying to protect them it seems but not in the fruitful way. During rain they get stuck into the core village, that time private transport and bus services get stopped totally. I came to know that many of them don't have their official name by birth and few of them do have. And those names are typically tribal name with surname Toto. But now a days most of them don't use it rather they have got some typical Bengali name from school (Eg. Subrata ,Subho etc). They believe if they keep those Bengali name they can easily get attached with Bengali of the state and they can easily survive, Can you imagine ? Most of the people have their own land to cultivate own crops like Corns, Rice, varieties vegetables and mostly Betel nuts. They believe to eat fresh crops to stay fit enough. They store it and use for rest of the time of a year. Now a days they have got solar energy in most of the houses.
