More Information: Hadal Narayanpur is located on the southern banks of Bodai river, a tributary of River Damodar. The nearest railway station id Dhagaria which is around 5 km away from Rajbari or Zamindar houses which are classified into 3 parts - Choto Torof, Mejo Torof, Boro Torof. So let's go inside of each and find out the hidden gem stored into the mansion.

I have first visited in the Mondal mansion of Choto Torof. It has a triangular shaped entrance with two lions statues facing each other. It has a huge wooden black gate with some decorations and the outside of the building color is the combination of Maroon and Yellow. After entering into it you will face a nat mancha along with adjacent thakur dalan. On the right hand there is an Yellow colored Maa Kali temple along with 3 arch in front. The main attraction of Choto torof is south facing Navaratna temple which has very strong Terracotta designs in it's wall. The beautiful temple has a very unique color combination of White and Brown. The central panel of the temple is displayed a scene from The Mahabharat where Arjun was targeting the fish eye in Draupadi’s swayamvar shava. As per the family source this temple was built nearly 210 years by Baburam Mondal for his minor son Ganga Gobinda. The navaratna temple dedicated to Radha Damodar Jeu (Shalagramshila). Apart from that there are two more temple into that ground, one is octagonal shaped which is dedicated to Rama and another one is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Inside of the Zamindar house extended Mondal family members are staying, so they only take care of the temples and festivals throughout the years. There are few more ruined temples are found outside of the Choto torof campus. Don't miss those out because you will get to see extraordinary terracotta work on those ruins temples.

In Mejo torof there is another east facing Navaratna temple which also has a lot of Terracotta work explaining Ramayana and Mahabharat, Dashavatar, Krishnalila, Ananta Shayan Vishnu apart from the mythological and pictures from social life.

If you go towards North you will find Boro torof gate. After entering on immediate left you will find one double-storied (40 feet) seventeen pinnacled octagonal rasmancha which will grab your attention from every angle. It is said that it has been constructed on 1854. It has it has sculptures depicting Shiva-Nandi-Bringhi, Gaja Lakshmi, Ram Sita, Gostho Lila, Krishna Radhika, Mahishasura Mardini Durga, Marriage of Shiva etc. There was an old custom that during the Rash festival in the month of November all the Shalagramshilas of the village were kept here for three days. On the north side of this rasmancha there is one Nat Mancha which has several pillars supporting it's roof top. There is a Maa Kali temple in the north side of the campus which has some artistic patch work into its inner wall. Another attraction is a rath chariot made of bell metal inside an enclosure. The chariot was made by Shivnarayan Mandal in 1854. The year also coincides with the date of the construction of the seventeen-pinnacled rasmancha. The nine-pinnacled ten feet chariot had many images on it starting from Dashavatar to the mythological and even pictures from social life. In between the Maa Kali temple and Nat Mancha, there is main zamindar mansion entrance which is basically double-storied yellow-coloured house belonging to the Mandals. It has a marvellous architecture along with its semi-circular arch over each window. One will also witness the European influence on it. The big size wooden door is incredibly designed and will welcome to amaze you. Inside of the main entrance you will find another big natmancha and big Durga mandir or thakur dalan. The decoration of the thakurdalan is pretty royal. There is another entrance on right of the thakurdalan which leads you to south-facing amazingly decorative pancha ratna (five pinnacled) Radha Damodar terracotta temple. This place is kind of hidden gem of this mansion. There are also 2 shiva temple in front of the pancha ratna and a big lawn where they celebrate most of the festivals. There is a tributary of River Damodar, called Bodai is flowing from the North of the campus. Every torof is having a big pond in front of their mansion.

Durga puja and Rash festivals are the main two festivals which are being celebrated in a major way in Hadal Narayanpur. You should approach once during the festival.

You can get food on the nearby shop in case you are looking for it. But don't expect much. The road condition is pretty okay so if you are coming by car, you will enjoy it most. Visit Hadal Narayanpur as per your continent time.
