More Information:	If we try to find the Jain settlement in West Bengal, we mostly found the record in Purulia. There are few more in Bankura, Midnapur and Jhargram as well. In Purulia there are many Deul styled temple like Deulghata, Banda, Para, Pakbira, Telkupi etc. If you want to visit the album for those temples you can view the link http://www.progressivethought.in/oxygen/telkupi-banda-deulghata-pakbirra In Bagmundi sub district in Purulia, there are another series of Jain temples, which is known as Deuli Jain temple. This is near by Suisa area. You can search it in Google. This place is pretty much rural by nature. There are total 4 temples in a row which are nearly abandoned. The stony and brick structure of the deul temples are in very bad condition and those are not in a state to renovate. Most of the foundation and body stones are getting scrambled and few are placed one above another loosely. The second one creates a heap of stone in ground which you have to climb a bit to see the inside of the temple. This one is considered as the main temple among those. You will be amazed to find an 4 feet idol of Jain Tirthankar which is being worshipped daily. Most probably this one is Santinath, the 16th Tirthankar. For local people this idol is call Irgunath. That is why this deul is known as Irgunath Jain deul also. Mid June local people celebrate a big festival around this area. This area is covered by big Banian trees and it’s peaceful environment will force you to stay for long. There is a local shop which is ran by an old person from where you can buy some local fresh breakfasts. We tried it, personally we liked it very much. As per history this place is used to contain lots of Jain Idols which were found in 13-14th century. While Jain settlement they use to create sculptures as much as possible and make the land holy. This was the another process of spreading their religion towards local people, sending their message among them. Unfortunately those temples and sculptures gets abandoned day by day and due to lack of maintenance those remains scattered in that area. Later West Bengal Archeology Department took initiative to collect the sculptures and built a small museum in Suisa area. There they keep most of the statues, few of those are in good condition and few others have their broken parts. Among those there are 4 handed idol which is having resemblance with lord Vishnu. Others are Jain Tirthankar. During your visit in Irgunath, on the way you will pass Tunturi area. There you make an halt for Tunturi Ghosh Shiva temple and Dewan Bari Durga temple which will be found in roadside only.
