More Information: Everyone draws some todo list in their life and when it comes to make an itinerary they place their favourite god in the top of the list. On basis of that they choose their destination. Similarly I have chosen one of the most desired destinations across the country. Yes it is Isha a.k.a Adiyogi.

Adiyogi Statue

So today I will take you guys in Western ghat in Coimbatore. If you want to come here by local transport you can start your journey from Coimbatore Gandhipuram bus stand. From there you will get bus for Isha foundations once in an hour. The red colour bus travels around 32 km and drop you to the land of Adiyogi. The owner of the foundation is Sadhguru and acquired huge area to make an ashram for meditation. Let’s walk for an overview of the area where you are allowed to take photographs. Another portion can be story telling. So while getting down you will find the entire area is covered by massive Western ghat range, the weather you will find totally divine, lots of eateries around obviously veg, and you will notice pretty clean and maintained campus. Sadguru works for Save Soil project as he tries to spread the awareness throughout the world that without soil we are nothing. The most surprising thing you will find in this area is bull cart, which carrying 10 people around 1 km and drop them besides Adiyogi statue. Cost for per person is 10 rs for a ride.

Once you reach in front of Adiyogi, for a moment you will be lost by the vibes of the environment. From there you will be able to see almost 360 degree of Western ghat, so beautiful so green. You will feel like, yes this is the truth, God is so big and powerful specially when it comes to the name of Lord Shiva. Throughout the area that mantra which they are playing will hypnotise you. You will find people go crazy taking pictures, making reels and lot more. I suggest after you are done with mobile give an hour to think about Shiva, do meditation, think about his power whatever you feel is good for you.

Auroville - world yoga center

As mobile and cameras are not allowed inside the Auroville, I thought not to go inside at first. But I must say if I did the same I would be the foolish one.

So after going inside I had to follow the path what volunteers were instructing. Bunch of beetle trees are welcoming once you enter. After few meter of walk we had to submit our shoes and go bare foot further.

First you will find Suryakund. It is basically a huge swimming pool with a lot of decorum surrounding, inside of that there are 3 shiv lingam placed. I found people worship by own so I asked for the same. For that I had to deposit my wallet and other stuffs into the reception nearby. Then followed by a huge changing room where all have to change remove their clothes and get towels from the authority, take shower and then proceed for the Suryakund. Truly I feel good from inside because you will feel your spiritual soul once you touch Shiva lingam and pray.

Followed by the path, next thing you will see people are doing meditation sitting here and there, that gives you a good vibes all together. Next we saw Linga bhairavi and take further steps for Isha sacred walks. The entire campus is magical, decorative and artistic.

Next is Dhyana lingam. The globe shaped building is a wonder for all the visitors. It is basically the ultimate Yoga hall. Inside of that there is a huge Shiva Lingam in the centre and it is covered with tons of lamps from the base. The hall is pin dropped silent which is strictly instructed. One by one batch of people go inside for 10 min and do meditation and come out. That’s the main purpose. Inside the environment is pretty divine and magical. The low light and the shape of the building will block your eyes for long. You come out, you will see Nandeshwara the bull statue of Shiva facing Dhyana lingam and a peepul tree with lots of petitions hanging.

While coming out of the campus you will find canteen from where you can have your meal which cost pretty minimal. Example like daal rice for 20 rs, Bhajji 10 rs, Kulphi 60 rs like that. Inside of the campus there are several clean toilet and drinking water facilities. There are also several shops from where you can buy books, clothes, food, authentic stuffs, decorations which represents Isha foundation.

What else

So there are two part of Isha. One is Adiyogi and another one is world yoga centre. Apart from that there is another place nearby called Poondi. It is around 3 km from Isha. Not so far for a traveller right. You can go there by walk and find an ancient temple. I bet the walk will be remembered once you commit it. The road is covered with lush green forest, you are allowed to go and comeback before 5 pm if you are planning for walk because it is considered as elephant passing zone beyond that time. From Poondi another trekking route started which leads you towards Velliangiri hill range. For that you have to trek and do camping. You can combine it with Siruvani another greater destination nearby. But if you are going by bike or car it is suggested to visit Poondi once.

In the end I will tell you it is highly recommended for people to come by private car or bike. Sounds rude but this place is as beautiful as heaven which can be enjoyed when you have private vehicle. Once you cross Irrutupallam you literally get vibes that you are going to reach Isha. And the beauty across 7.5 km throughout the road will take you another level of peace.
